Is it a bun or bunk or buntt, or is it really just a kekie, or a cake with a hole in it?

When the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" came out, I was soooo excited! Finally all those stories I'd share with friends about certain customs or family (isms) that didnt' fit the norm, in a movie for the whole world to see. Ok, the whole Windex thing is particular to her family, and yet people remember it and spew it as a resolve to a bug bite or in a random conversation. But come on, what is there not to like about this movie!! It's got all the laughs, and for us Greeks we were lucky enough to see it coming before the rest of the theater. So yeah, there would be two groups of laughter for one scene, especially when there were subtitles. You don't have to be Greek to like this movie, but you do have to have a sense of humour.

So what does this have to do with food youask? Well a few weeks ago a friend of mine had posted some items she was baking for Easter to offer for sale and I had noticed she had several Bundt cakes listed. As we typically joke with each other from scenes from this movie, I felt it my responsibility to ask her if she was going to have flowers in the center of her cakes? You know, it's better to know exactly what you are getting...hahaha! Of course this got me thinking of how creating something like that would be a fun and lovely gift for Mother's day. Flowers and cake, perfection!!! While what they do in movies, doesn't always turn out the same in reality, I think I've made it work, for the photos that is! And of course should anyone want any, they will be available with flowers, just don't go thinking you'll have a large bouquet. I can only fit short stemmed flowers. Imagine flowers one might pick out in nature to gift their mom, dad, girlfriend and even boyfriend.

Bundt cakes are quite tasty! Soft, buttery and flavorful and so many flavors to choose from. Sometimes I go too far and over create; for this project I looked to the interweb to help me find recipes and flavor ideas. I created a worksheet and from a list for about 8 different types, I narrowed it to half, and only three flavors to start. Then comes how big, because Bundt cakes can come in weee small cakes, mediums size and regular large size. I figured how fun it would be to offer all three flavors in small cakes, but of course make the single flavor recipe available as well. Whatever option, for Mother's Day, the flowers are included!

You're welcome! For what, for creating a wonderful treat for your mom of course! Just get yourself over to my shop (or click the photo below to be automatically directed) and put your order in!
